IELTS EXAM PREPARATION

Lessons For Medical Professionals
In deciding which test to choose there are a number of different factors to consider, such the specific requirements of your profession’s regulatory body in the country you would like to work, test centre locations, test dates available and personal preference, to name just a few.
One of the main differences between the IELTS and OET is that OET is specifically designed for healthcare professionals. All parts of the test relate to the use of English in a healthcare setting so as you prepare for the test you will learn the type of language that will be relevant to the workplace.
I think most importantly, however, is to know that a high score in either test will demonstrate an advanced level of English and that getting a high score in either test requires thorough preparation.
As a retired medical doctor and certified teacher of English as a foreign language, I am in the fortunate position to be able to help you achieve success in either IELTS or OET.
If you would like help preparing for either of these tests or would just like advice on which test to choose, please feel free to contact me.

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a widely accepted English language proficiency test. If you are a healthcare professional that has trained in a non- English speaking country both IELTS or OET will provide the evidence that you need to show that you have advanced English language skills. In turn, this will give you the ticket you need to register and work in an English speaking country but which test is best for you depends on your specific circumstances.
